Dear Pastor, Prayer Team Leaders and Community Outreach Leaders,

I am writing to inform you as well as ask for prayer for a man that loves the Lord and for peace in regard to police brutality in Jackson, MI.

I believe many of our local leaders have been failing us by turning a blind eye to gross misconduct by our police departments.

Right now, a God loving Christian man is facing criminal charges for acts he did not commit. These charges have been made up to cover up the gross beating, tasing and excessive force used by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Dept.

• They claim this citizen did not stop at a stop sign when the police car video shows he did.
• They claim the citizen assaulted two police officers when he immediately held up his hands in the air saying “Wo, wo, wo” in attempt to settle down Deputy Scott Josephs. This deputy charged at him with a taser gun drawn then pushed him STILL while this man’s hands were in the air. The man did NOT defend himself and I believe was ‘slow to anger’. Proverbs 15:18
• They claim he was drunk when he was not. The man’s last DUI was over 5 years ago and has since turned his life around by the grace of God’s guidance. The sheriff’s deputy lacked so much self control, he tased the man, Anthony Duval, FIVE TIMES - for 23 seconds of 50,000 volts of electricity, attacked and beat him so badly the deputy can only rely on this man’s past to help him get away with it.
• Also based on a hospital video of this deputy, I believe he is acting suspiciously and hovering over the man’s blood sample then awkwardly retrieving something out of his pocket. This raises doubt the evidence wasn’t tampered with. This deputy knows he conducted himself against his dept’s Use of Force Policy as well as guidelines for a routine traffic stop and I believe a simple breathalyzer could have traced any alcohol in the citizen’s body.

Pastor, you might saying, “What an unfortunate time for this man,” or “I hope these trumped up charges get dropped,” or “thanks for the information…”

I believe if this could happen to this man; it could have been me, you, and anyone who happens to be on the street driving. It is frightening to me how this deputy has the duty to be peaceful, professional and trained to establish and maintain control over a traffic stop but clearly he did not. As this case is talked about more and more, the TRUTH is being heard slowly and limitedly by the Citizen Patriot. It has been troubling to me that I am seeing more and more people coming forward sharing their stories of Jackson deputies using excessive force. Even while at my hair appointment, I heard people complaining about similar abuse cases, I have talked to many people, I have read blogs, my neighbor’s son was attacked by a police officer in Jackson and still more cases unheard. I can’t say how long it’s been a problem however it is clear there seems to be an abuse of authority in Jackson and nobody is doing anything about it. This case has been said by experts to be a Rodney King case in our backyard. It is also being reviewed by the FBI in Detroit. In the King case, the officers were sentenced to 30 months in prison for their abusive actions. Please feel free to read about this case at http://tellthetruth40.blogspot.com/ and Los Angeles v. Rodney King and compare them. The similarities are enormous and the abuse in both cases from these people in authority is clearly against God’s will. This is why I am using my freewill to hopefully likeminded Believers to share with you what is going on.

POLICY CHANGES -

In the near future, I would like to see the Jackson County Sheriff’s Dept. change their exception to the Freedom of Information Act policy that excuses them from sharing their Use of Force Policy. This policy should be readily available to any citizen that asks for it.

Another policy change should be when a citizen makes a formal complaint again deputies; the complaint should be investigated by a neutral party not a deputy from the same dept.

In conclusion, please pray for this man as he is your Christian brother for the truth to come out and he does not serve time for crimes he did not commit.  Please pray the jury to see the truth, attorney Phillip Berkemeier’s wisdom and the Circuit Court Judge to see what is really happening in Jackson and it stops. We will not back down because as Believers we know that the truth WILL set him free.

Road Rage by Cop in Jackson County, MI

On 4/30/11, Deputy Scott Josephs from the Jackson County, MI Sheriff’s Dept gets angry and begins to road rage when he has to tap his breaks as a man pulls out in front of him. He turns on his car’s lights. In court, he lies under oath and says the innocent citizen did NOT pull over immediately however the video shows that is yet another untruth of many he verbalizes. The citizen pulls over within ONE second, parks neatly and quickly. The road raged Deputy Scott Josephs comes barreling out of the county’s car raging toward the innocent citizen WITH A TASER GUN pointing at his chest. Yes, a X26 taser gun drawn and ready to be used. So why, what is going on? Why would a “peace” officer be so enraged and out of control?

With the citizen's hands high in the air, the raged Deputy Scott Josephs pushes the citizen with the taser gun in his chest and with his other hand pushing the innocent man over his car’s hood. The innocent man keeps saying, “Wo wo wo!” trying to calm the enraged COP! AGAIN. So why? What is going on? Why would a “peace” officer be so enraged and out of control?

It gets worse.

The enraged Deputy Scott Josephs pushes the man out of cop car camera view to the front of the man’s car. The deputy continues to assault him by pushing against him, threatening him with being tased, slams him on the hood again, telling him confusing and quick commands. “Get on the ground, give me your hands, get back into the car!” The innocent citizen is so confused and cannot believe how freaked out this cop is. He keeps saying, “Are you kidding me?” The road raged cop tases the innocent citizen and even calls for back up. Is this what a driver should expect to happen to them when they get pulled over in Jackson, MI? A frightening, YES!

The road raged cop calls for back up where another completely out of control cop shows up. This is Deputy Bradley Reed. Deputy Scott Josephs conveniently and helplessly screams loudly when Reed is getting out of his car. Josephs gets dramatically loud, “Give me your hand!” he screams. Bradley Reed comes out with fists drawn running at the innocent citizen who is now laying on his face in the dirt with handcuffs on. Please see the video at tellthetruth40 channel on youtube.com. You see him and hear the man get beaten, punched, tased and assaulted over and over again. If the citizen was black, you would think he was Rodney King. Could this be reverse discrimination?

Deputy Bradley Reed shows up swinging wildly at the citizen that is handcuffed and not even defending himself. Reed screams in anger, "Tase him again!"

Jackson City police officer Galbreath arrives at the scene and runs to punch the innocent citizen wildly.Now he has three police officers on top of him. Galbreath is clearly out of control by his swinging and punching. You can hear the victam, helpless to breathe and loudly loosing his breath as Galbreath is just as angry and relentless as the first two deputies abusing this man and their authority.

City of Jackson detective Sergio Garcia, Sargeant Tommy Schuette and Larry Jacobson all showed up on the scene as well. They assisted in this beating by not stopping this grossly act against this innocent citizen; failed to call for ambulance as the citizen had been beaten so badly he could not walk, defecated on himself because he was tased 437 times at 50,000 volts of electricity.  In jail, he was made to sit in his defecation for three days until bonded out. He asked Deputy Walker to shower himself and she refused him that human right for three days. You also hear on the video, “He is incoherent!” but yet not one of the deputies or officers do the right thing and stop this beating that lasts several minutes. Before the man went out, his breathing was labored, full of pain and near lifeless.

These cops tase this innocent citizen that was driving on a street in Jackson, MI a horrifying five (5) times! Records show the man was tased five times for twenty three (23) seconds each second has nineteen (19) pulses per second. That is being electrocuted 437 times at 50,000 volts of electrocution! The City of Jackson’s Use of Force Policy states three tases is too much and the Operating Manual sadly says the X26 is made to tase for only 5 seconds.

Furthermore, Deputy Bradley Reed lies on police reports stating he broke his hand due to the citizen assaulting him. Watch the video. He is punching the handcuffed citizen in the head that was just pulled over by his road raged buddy for pulling out in front of him. You can also hear a Deputy on the voice recordings trying to talk Deputy Scott Joseph into having a black eye. Saying, "No, I really think you have a black eye".  As a side note, there weren’t any Miranda rights either but who hears rights given to them on a traffic stop or in this case a road rage traffic stop.

After vomiting blood from all the beating and tasing, the police chose to take the citizen to Allegiance Hospital for chest x-rays and to perhaps assist with the bleeding from his lungs. Deputy Anthony Shepard known now and will forever be the “Allegiance Hospital Choker.” Watch his “handy” work on the video on youtube.com channel tellthetruth40. Deputy Anthony Shepard completely loses control of himself. He waits for a commanding officer to leave the room, and then slams the HANDCUFFED citizen against the wall, breaking the chair this innocent man is sitting on. Deputy Anthony Shepard proceeds to choke the man until he cannot breathe holding him against the wall. Just as a side note, on June 6, 2011, Deputy Anthony Shepard was promoted by the clearly misguided and corrupt new Sheriff, Steven P. Rand to sergeant. The choker gets promoted! Using the words of the innocent citizen after he realized he was being victimized, get beaten and nearly killed, “Are you FuXXXXXXg kidding me?  Anthony Shepard should be in prison for assaulting a HANDCUFFED citizen and choking him. Maybe Allegiance Hospital’s supporting agencies should be notified for allowing him to abuse their patient! They could see what was going on, how do you think we got this hospital video. As a matter of fact, you will see their security guards walking by.

Upon fact finding, Captain Brad Piros was asked and refused to give the citizen the Sheriff' Dept's Use of Force Policy. He said it had confidential information in it. The Freedom of Information Act is a federal law that gives citizens the rights to view public policies, a federal law!

Also Jody Budd was another federal law violator as SHE refused the innocent citizen the Use of Force Policy stating that this particular policy was excluded from the Freedom of Information Act, A FEDERAL LAW! Another reason denied for this policy was “The report is still open pending further investigation.” Her job title: Freedom of Information Act Coordinator for the Jackson County Office of the Sheriff. Did we mention, this is a FEDERAL LAW? WHAT?

Deputy Bradley Reed’s cover up and wanna-be intimation continues as he goes to the hospital laughing and talking trash to the man he is falsely accusing of assaulting him which the deputy clearly knows is a felony. Actually, it’s two felonies as both the corrupt deputies are charging the innocent citizen with assaulting both of them. If not represented properly by a competent attorney, the innocent citizen could get 8-10 years in prison when it is the deputies that clearly should be tried and imprisoned for assaulting the citizen.

Word on the street, hair salons, the coffee shop and some construction job sites is this kind of behavior and intimation happens quite often in Jackson, MI. People complain, get strong armed and pushed around then they get scared to go against the grade even though they are simply sticking up for themselves. They stop questioning the Sheriff’s Dept. and the abuse goes away? So, go to prison for crimes you did not commit?

The newly appointed Sheriff Steven P. Rand lied to Jackson Citizen Patriot Newspaper on 5/2/11 and 5/3/11 stating the citizen assaulted the two (2) raging police officers but the facts were clearly the opposite. The cover up continues on.

Under-Sheriff Christopher A. Kuhl lied to WILX TV channel 10 News in an interview stating the innocent citizen has had previous charges with assaulting officers but based on court documents THIS is NOT true either. He said he was drunk and taking swings at the road raged deputies. Again, you see the man holding his hands in the air and attempting to calm the raged deputy. Please see the video at tellthetruth40 channel on youtube.com. How can see these people lie and cover up all the wrong doings of Jackson City and Sheriff’s Dept and so far get away with it? Are they above the law, the real law?

After the citizen made written complaints and submitted them to Lieutenant Steve Bisard, he stated in writing the citizen's complaints of obvious police brutality and excessive force were “unfounded”. He said on the phone, he reviewed the two cop car videos and the choking video from the hospital and officer tampering with the blood evidence and said, "I see nothing wrong with how the officers responded." He was also made to respond to the complaints by certified mail. It was then he put it in writing that the police officers and deputies did nothing wrong in his opinion. Yet another public servant is victimizing this citizen.

The citizen made complaints against the city police as well. Lt. Christopher Simpson from Jackson City Police has received complaints against City of Jackson police for assisting in the beating and tasing of the handcuffed citizen pulled over by the road raged cop Deputy Scott Josephs. Three months later, he claims he is still doing his investigation. He has no response to the citizen's complaints of assaulting him and the gross police brutality to date.

Anybody see any conflict of interest by the Chief Prosecuting Attorney having the previous job of Jackson County Sheriff? The Jackson County Prosecuting Attorneys office, Mark Blumer, the Sheriff’s Dept, the Jackson City Police and many other individuals continue their corrupt crusade to imprison an innocent man.

Also to date, the Jackson County, MI Prosecuting Attorney’s office, Mark Blumer has been given the videos, pictures, falsified police reports, recently added “supplemental information” and still maintains that the citizen made no complaints against the officers when the complaints have already been deemed “unfounded”. In this “supplemental information” the road raged cop admits that he had one handcuff on the citizen then tased the citizen for the first time, then handcuffed his other hand. So, why did he tase the citizen FOUR MORE TIMES and beat him and have the other cops beat him until he was nearly dead? Mark Blumer this Prosecuting Attorney has still yet to tell the innocent citizen why he was pulled over in the first place much less drop the falsified charges. Actually, he appears to just not care or give the case any of his attention. It’s not a big deal; it’s just 8-10 years of an innocent man’s life. He claims to have had high profile cases and has been on TV. Really? Perhaps TV is exactly what this case needs. How about national attention to create peace and end police brutality in Jackson, MI Mr. Blumer? Perhaps there is availability of billboards going in and out of Jackson warning other innocent citizens of what lies in the darkness for them as this man found on the night of 4/30/11. The billboard will read, “Help Fight Police Brutality in Jackson, MI” with a picture of the man’s hands held up trying to calm the road rage cop. There is concern about slowed businesses off the highway however the concern is much more about the man being falsely charged with assaulting 2 deputies. As far as national attention, this story is going to be sent to as many publications, newsrooms and TV shows as possible and will hopefully be read.  ONE time is too many but it sounds like police brutality happens often in Jackson, MI.

Until this innocent citizen gets his innocents restored fully (charges dropped), we will keep this case out in the public to serve as a warning to drivers, employers to not employ any of this people and to serve as encouragement to the other innocent citizens suffering police brutality in Jackson, MI.
